LISA LIANNE COLLINS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa Lianne Collins, who lost her long and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Ward at the age of 43 years. Lisa will be forever loved and remembered by her mother Lynette; fiance Gary Mymko (Alyssa, Cody and Trevor); grandparents, Gordon (Poppie) and Isabelle (Granny) Collins; as well as extended family and friends. Lisa also shared a special love with her pets, Stinky and Buddy. She was predeceased by her loving dad, Gordon Collins in 1998. On August 31, 1962, Lisa was born in Winnipeg, MB. She was raised and educated in Winnipeg. Her career accomplishments included modelling, weather reporting, owning and operating the Walkway Cafe, working as a Legal Secretary and working in the retail sector until her illness. Lisa was a gift to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She had a beautiful smile that radiated her inner beauty. Lisa always kept a positive attitude and disposition that allowed her to touch the hearts of everyone around her. Her uplifting spirit and ability to put others before herself made her an inspiration to all who knew her. Three years ago Lisa met her soulmate Gary. They shared a love of life and looked forward to each and every day. Despite the hardships that came with Lisa's illness their love only grew and they supported each other unconditionally. On Wednesday, January 18 at 3:00 p.m., Lisa's life will be celebrated in the Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr., with Pastor Bob Davis officiating. Lisa's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you for the extraordinary care, compassion and dignity given to her throughout her lengthy illness by the doctors and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Ward and CancerCare Manitoba. Also, a special thank you to Lisa's nurses, home care workers, family and friends who cared for and comforted her. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. Lynette, at the time, I could not imagine the scope of your loss; we lost a son in 2012; that journey of grief is only truly known until one takes it. Your precious daughter had so many battles to fight but I believe that you were there for her all the time. Would like to reconnect with you. Love always, Lee-Anne - Posted by: Lee-Anne Lyon (Friend ) on: Dec 08, 2014
