H. L. (LOUISE) MURPHY (STEINER)

H. L. (LOUISE) MURPHY (nee STEINER) Born August 8, 1921, passed away at Richmond Hospital on Wednesday, November 14, 2007. Louise is predeceased by her husband, BC, (Pat) Murphy and her youngest daughter Shauna Estabrook. She is survived by her brother Vincent Steiner and family, sons Patrick and Kevin Murphy and families and her daughter Erin Burgess and family as well as her grandchildren of the Ferguson, Murrell and Herzberg families. Louise lived much of her life in Manitoba, being born in Lenore, training as a stenographer in Winnipeg, then spending her early married years in Roland, among many lifelong friends. To provide better opportunities for her children, the family moved to North Vancouver in 1959, where she made many more friends. Since 1977 she has lived in Mariners' Village in Richmond. As a charter member of the greatest generation , she has endured the depression, wars and everything a large family could throw at her but always made her family her first priority, never taking much for herself. We will miss her dearly and always be grateful for the way she always gave, never complaining, as she nurtured and sustained each generation. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 18 from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m., at Gilmore Gardens, 4088 Blundell, Richmond, BC. In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate a donation to the MS Society, or Canadian Cancer Society.
