Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA CHORNOBY (nee Bland) In Loving Memory of our mom, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, auntie, great-auntie and wife, Barbara Chornoby. Our mother was released to the Lord and his Divine Kingdom April 19, 2010 at 11:02 a.m. Mom was born in Fort Severn, Ontario, December 18, 1931. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Helen Bland, her siblings - Charlie, Bernard, Joan, Marjorie and Agnes. She is survived by loving husband (of 59 years April 16, 2010) Leonard; and their children, Jimmy (Edna), Lorraine (Rick), Lenny (Doreen), Brian (Marilyn), Debbie, Todd (Michelle), Gerald (Carla) her baby Dwayne (Leanne); daughter-in-law Suzanne; her 31 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by son Gary on December 12, 2007. Mom was a very kind, compassionate and hard working woman, who always put the needs of others before her own. Not only did she raise her own nine children, but also raised many other children, either through fostering or taking in children from the community who needed a loving home. There isn't anyone in the family or otherwise, that will ever forget her hugs and her homecooked meals. She was the definition of family - she made everyone feel as though they had a place they belonged. The family wishes to thank all of those who have sent their love and their prayers throughout the last few weeks - your thoughtfulness is very much appreciated. We would also like to send our heartfelt thanks and acknowledge all the medical staff, especially Dr. Borette and staff at the Grace Hospital for the gentle, kind and compassionate care of our mother. Services to honour mom's life are as follows: Winnipeg - Mosaic Funeral Home, 1839 Inkster Boulevard - Wednesday, April 21, 2010, Viewing: 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., service to follow from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. Thompson - St. James Anglican Church - 10 Caribou Road - Viewing: Thursday, April 22, 2010 - 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.; Funeral Service: Friday, April 23, 2010 - 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly forward donations to the Children's Wish Foundation in memory of Barbara Chornoby.
