FRANCES COLLINSON (AUNTIE FRAN) Peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 Frances passed away at her residence at the age of 86 years. Remaining to cherish Fran's memory are numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her dear husband of 40 years of marriage, Jack; brothers Gerry, Mel, Jimmy, Louis and Don; sisters Corrine, Edna and Aleta. Fran spent her whole life in Manitoba and was proud of her long career with the Hudson's Bay Company. She was very active in the sporting community and was a member of Assiniboine Golf Club for many years. She was also a pitcher for the C.U.A.C. Blues of the Winnipeg Softball League, capturing many provincial championships and the MVP award on two occasions. Fran was also proud of her association and contribution to the Manitoba Dystonia Foundation. She was a devoted member of St. Paul the Apostle Church. Fran met the man of her dreams and was married in 1966. She adored Jack and the two were inseparable. Although they never had children, there was never a shortage of nieces and nephews around to share their lives. Fran always made sure that her family was looked after, be that helping out financially, or just making sure that people went home with lots of food. Fran never forgot a birthday and was generous to a fault. She will be missed by all who shared her life. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 10:15 a.m. in St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, with Rev. Fr. José Medeiros, presiding. A private family interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Charleswood Care Centre, Fran's home for the past 11 months, for their care and support. God Bless You, Auntie.
