Date of Passing: May 17, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD COLLINS 1931 - 2011 It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Len Collins on May 17, 2011 at the Health Science Centre. Left to cherish Lens memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Janet (nee Horner), daughters Gail (Cliff) and Carol (Ray), grandchildren Lisa, Kelly (Dave), Kimberly and Jenny, brother Roy and sister Doris, and brother-in-law Rollie, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Dad was employed by Manitoba Telephone System from November 24, 1950 to May 1, 1987. He was fortunate to enjoy over 24 years of healthy retirement. It was during that time he became an avid carver and left behind many treasured carvings. Most of all though, Dad treasured the friendships he made through carving. Dad also loved gardening where his efforts were reflected in his showpiece yard. The family would like to thank Dr. Kerr and his nurse Cindy at Cancer Care as well as the staff on GH5 for all their kindness shown to Dad. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers donations to Cancer Care in Len's memory would be greatly appreciated.
