DONNA ELIZABETH THOMPSON September 11, 1962 December 5, 2011 It is with deep sorrow Donna's family announces her passing after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her parents John and Jeanette Thompson, brother Robert, sister Gail and nephew Zachary and her many friends. At Donna's request cremation has taken place and no service will be held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to World Wild Fund at www.wwf.ca. The family wishes to extend their sincere and heartfelt thanks to the nurses and support staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit 8A for the excellent care they provided.

  • I only played soccer with Donna for few a years in my teens in Verdun. We had a really good team back then and had a lot of fun. I remember her with her yellow goalie shirt and red Adidas pants and that she was a very good goalie and a fun person to be around. I hope she carried that happy outlook throughout her life. It's a shame it was cut so short. I'm only finding out of her passing now by fluke. My mom is in the hospital in Ottawa and her nurse (Charlene Green) knows many of our teammates which prompted my Google search.
