Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS MATTHES April 13, 1986 - December 16, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nicholas Matthes. Nicholas was predeceased by his grandmother Herta Krietz and his grandfather Jacob Bay. He is survived by his parents Darlene and Garry Bay; his siblings Diane (Pete), Nicole (Paul), Allan (Dianne), and Denice; grandfather Arthur Krietz and grandmother Bernice Bay. Nicholas was a vibrant and caring young man who was devoted to his family including his siblings, nephews Marshall and Luke, in addition to many aunts, uncles and cousins. Nicholas worked many jobs and was a skilled handyman and auto mechanic. He enjoyed collecting movies, TV shows, and music, and always enjoyed discussing his favourite collectables with family and friends. All who knew Nicholas remember him as a fun loving and caring friend, who would go to great lengths for those he loved. He is an irreplaceable family member and friend and will be greatly missed. May you soar high within the sky to a place where your deepest fulfillment lies. Don't be afraid, we haven't let go, you'll always be by our side. We promise our love and memories will remain and may you know deep down inside that we'll see you once again. And when that time comes we'll share the missing moments. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St. with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nicholas' name to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
