DEBORAH COHEN It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of (Sally) Deborah Bunny Cohen of Winnipeg, on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the age of 62. She will be deeply missed by her husband Greg, her son Rob (Lisa), her sisters Cheryl (Michael) and Marsha (Michael), Baba Ruth, the whole Kettner family, and her extended family in Malibu and Los Angeles. Debby's loving presence will also be missed by her father-in-law Arthur Mauro (Naomi), sisters-in-law Barbara (Scott), Christine (Derek), Jennifer and her nieces and nephews Jeffrey, Andrew, Nicholas, Sarah and Alexander, and by her many many friends whom she touched so deeply. Debby was born May 11, 1949 in Winnipeg to Rose and Barney Cohen. She grew up in the north end of Winnipeg and attended Peretz School and West Kildonan Collegiate. Throughout her life, Debby developed a love for art, opera, books and crosswords. She was an excellent pianist and a renowned baker. She was known throughout the city for her imaginative, delicious cheesecakes and artistically decorated wedding cakes. She also became a master of Baba Ruth's rum cake. But Debby's greatest gift was her unconditional kindness and loyalty to the people in her life. It seemed as though her philosophy of life was that people are put on this earth to be loved and she was going to make sure that they were! In accordance with the wishes of Debby and her family, a private service and Shiva will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
