ROBERT CHAN 1927 - 2012 Robert Chan passed away at the Grace Hospital on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, after a short battle with cancer. He was 84 years old. Robert was born in China; he immigrated to Canada in 1951. He worked as a cook at the Assiniboine Gordon Hotel for 24 years before retiring. Robert is survived in Winnipeg by his wife of 51 years, Laila, and by his son, Kevin. He is also survived by a brother, three sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews in the United States. The Chan family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff of 3 South at the Grace Hospital for the excellent care that they gave to Robert. A private service will be held.
