GRANT ROY GROENING It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Grant Roy Groening on January 8, 2012 at the age of 50 years in Winnipeg, MB. Grant will be lovingly remembered by his mother; Martha Groening, brothers; Calvin and Rod (Evelyn Bolton), sister; Wanda (Dave) Kolida, nephew; Dawson Kolida, as well as extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his sister Audrey Joy Groening on January 5, 1966 and by his father Burton J. Groening on June 10, 2007. Grant was a loving, caring, sensitive and humorous person. His passions were skateboarding, hockey (the old Jets), carpentry, camping, cycling, canoeing, guitar and one of his greatest joys was fishing, day or night and any time of the year. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. The time we spent fishing the shorelines of the Red for cats during open water season, Sugar Island and the End of Main for walleyes through the ice and fishing Crowduck and Lake of the Woods by boat are memories that will last forever.
