Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHOMAS ALEXANDER ROBERTSON November 20, 1960 - January 11, 2012 After a brief battle with complications from kidney failure, Tom has left us. Predeceased by our father David in 1983, our sister Brenda in 1992, and our mother Kathleen in 2005, he is survived by his sister Heather Johnson. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends at Lion's Manor, where Tom spent the last seven years. Tom was born and raised in Winnipeg and loved our city. He was a fan of local sports including our Bombers, Manitoba Moose, The Cyclone (basketball) and most of all, our Winnipeg Goldeyes. Before our mother passed, he could be found with her in any one of a hundred places in town, as they both loved our parks and attractions such as the Fort Whyte Centre. Family was important to him and he loved spending time with family and friends at any time. Most of all, he loved the outdoors; camping at Birds Hill Park or being at Winnipeg Beach. He had always loved animals and enjoyed trips to the zoo, or just being with his friend's pets. He was a sweet and gentle man, who perhaps was shy, but always enjoyed time spent with ones close to his heart, whether or not he talked much. He spent time volunteering at Lion's Manor and a few years back and won an award as Volunteer of the year, of which he was very proud. Heartfelt thanks go out to the dedicated, caring staff of St. Boniface General Hospital wards 5E, ICMS, 6E and Dialysis. Special thanks to all the physicians, and in particular a medical student named Ravi who with his heart and compassion will be a wonderful physician. Especially thanks to my close group of extended family, friends, and support who have been there with us through all of this. Although too numerous to mention by name, no words can express the extent of my gratitude. Rest well, my brother. Cremation has taken place. A small memorial service will be held Monday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy.

I live in Lions Manor and saw Tom on a daily basis either sitting at the door saying hi to everyone who walked in or watching something sports related on the TV. He just radiated kindness. He'll be missed around here. - Posted by: Anonymous Student (Aquantaince) on: Jan 17, 2012
