THOMAS EDWARD LOOKER 1953 - 2012 It is with great sadness we say farewell to Tom. After a long, hard battle with bladder cancer, Tom passed away at home peacefully with his loving wife and children at his side, on January 16, 2012. Tom was born January 15, 1953 and grew up in St. Thomas, Ontario where he met and married his childhood girlfriend Patricia (nee Groves) of 40 years and started their family. After his first son was born he moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where his family continued to grow. In 1975 he started to work as a welder at Arnie's Welding for 34 years. His last job at Westrans, he spent his final working days doing what he loved best - driving. Tom's greatest passion in life was to go out on the golf course and hit those little white balls around the golf course with whoever he could get to go - even his wife at times, but most of all, his son Ron and his brothers Brian and Jim, or his brother-in-law Tarry or grandson Nicholas. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Patricia and his sons: Thomas and Katherine Looker, who he said was the ladies man, and Ron who was his entertainer, and daughter Tresea and Joe Storzuk, his special daughter that he said would be his mechanic. (Nope she did not want to get her hands dirty). He also will be sadly missed by all seven grandchildren: his grandson Nicholas who held a special place in grandpa's heart and who he loved golfing with and always looked forward to those summer vacations; Brendan who was his special patient when he broke his arm while they were fishing; granddaughter Conni who never let Grandpa forget there was no e on her name and reminded him when he needed a shave; granddaughter Julia who won grandpa's heart at birth; his special angel grandson Riley - ladies man #2; granddaughter Alicia who made him proud of her accomplishments, dance, sports and darts - she is a 180 in his heart; Hayley, the hat-trick hockey pro. He was a very proud Grandfather. We will miss you Grandpa, xoxox. Tom leaves to mourn his mother Mary Looker and sisters and brothers, Marie and Tarry Groves, Linda and Gerald Gardy, Eileen and Rick Funk, Nancy and Randy Kotyk, Jim and Sophie Looker, Susan Looker, Brian and Lori Looker, Kenneth and Leanne Looker. Tom will be missed by several nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws and his Uncle Harry Carr (Nova Scotia) and Uncle Bill and Laurie Carr also of Winnipeg. Tom was predeceased by his father Earl Looker, Grandma Ethel Looker and Grandparents William and Lucy Carr. Also predeceased by his sister Barbara Looker at the age of 18. A Memorial Service to celebrate Tom's life will be held Friday, January 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CancerCare Manitoba. Tom's family wishes to thank CancerCare Manitoba, doctors, nurses and the Palliative Care staff for the wonderful care. Thanks to all the friends, family who helped with his care and support or even the phone chats into the late hours and early morning. Tom's only request was to stay at home in the latter days and with all the support, we made it happen. Pat would like to thank Quality Management and staff for the support and understanding they have had during Tom's long hard fight with cancer. RIP MY LOVE WE WILL UNITE AGAIN

I had the privilege of working with Tom for many years at Arne's. We had a lot of fun at work because Tom was easy to get along with. Lots of jokes and funny stories. We used to laugh about the old guys at Arne's Welding until we became the old guys. Tom gave me some really good memories. - Posted by: Dave Kroeker (co-worker at Arne's Welding) on: Jan 18, 2012

Tom came into our family many years ago at a very young age. Tom was very good looking and had a great smile. He dated and married my youngest sister Pat, and his sister married our youngest brother Tarry, we had so many laughs over that. Tom was always willing and there to help out anyone and that is exactly what Pat and Tom did for my family and I was so grateful to them. Tom was a great husband to my sister for over 40 years. A loving son, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and friend. Life is a Journey Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what's to be, A resting place along the road, To sweet eternity. We all have different journeys, Different paths along the way, We all were meant to learn some things, But never meant to stay. Our destination is a place, Far greater than we know. For some the journeys quicker, But for some the journeys slow. And when the journey finally ends, Well claim a great reward. And find an everlasting peace, Together with the lord. I know that when God met Tom at the end of his journey, God smiled and said "Journey well done Thomas Looker". Tom will be sadly missed and has a special place in all of our hearts. Rest in Peace Tom, Love Liz. - Posted by: Liz Smith (Sister In Law) on: Jan 18, 2012
