CLAIRE EUGENIE VANOUTRIVE (nee MORIN) Peacefully on January 14, 2012, at the Riverview Palliative Care Ward, Claire VanOutrive passed away. Claire was born in St. Francis Xavier, MB on January 6, 1913. Her husband Roger, sisters Albertine, Rose, Betty and Mary, and brothers Alex, Allen and Albert predeceased her. Claire is survived by her children Doreen Huot (Paul) and Brian (Teresa), grandchildren Roger (Mary), Thomas (Kim), Victoria (James) and Michael (Noelia), great-grandchildren Rebecca, James, Sydney, Chase, Quinn, Nathan and Jaxon, sister Yvonne, brother William, and step-grandchildren Kosty, Nicholas (Sarah) and Tim Jr. (Hillary), along with many nieces and nephews. Claire spent her early years in Harperville, came to her dream place of Winnipeg at a young age and worked until finding the love of her life, Roger. She married and raised their children in St. Boniface. She welcomed siblings and friends into her home; some as boarders. She had an open door policy until her and dad moved to Lions Place. After her husband's passing in 1993, mom continued on socializing, entertaining, playing the piano and enjoying the company of Lions Place residents. Thank you to Home Care at Lions Place, to Alma at Palliative Care and the staff at Riverview with a mention to Tony for his special care. A celebration of Claire's life will be held Saturday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Highway.
