BARBARA ENS May 30, 1950 - January 18, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce Barb's sudden passing. She was born in Danzig Germany. The family immigrated with one year old Barbel to Winnipeg. Barb and Henry were married on May 6, 1972. She was predeceased by her parents, Hans and Christel Schroeder, and mother-in-law Maria Ens. Words cannot describe the ache in our hearts and how much she will be missed. She brought us a constant strength, sparkle, tender warmth, and compassion for others. She had a huge love for her children and grandkids. Everything she did, everything she was, was full of love for her family. She had a large heart, and was so happy that all her children are here in Winnipeg. She leaves behind her husband Henry; children, Robert (and Amber, grandkids: Micah and Makenna); Christine (and Mike, grandkids: Megan and Joshua); Karen (and Kristjan); sister Ingrid (and Allan); father-in-law Jake Ens; many relatives and friends. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or M.C.C. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Douglas Mennonite Church, 1517 Rothesay St. Interment following in Brookside Cemetery.

  • I am saddened to hear about Barb's passing. I first met her in 1990 when we were both involved in Girl's Club at church. She was a wonderful person and was always so friendly. I enjoyed getting to know her and always felt she understood me. Barb was a special individual, a great listener, and always willing to share her wisdom. She will be missed. To the kids...your mom loved you all so much and from our talks she was extremely proud of you all. To Henry...hold on to the wonderful memories you have of Barb. - Posted by: Erika Federau ((co-volunteer)) on: Mar 01, 2012
