Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURRAY GORDON MITCHELL Peacefully on February 2, 2012 at the Concordia Hospital with family at his side, Murray passed away the day before his 82nd birthday. Born February 3, 1930 in Teulon, Manitoba to Charles and Millicent, Murray married the love of his life, Ida Ray Sigurdson on June 15, 1951. Predeceased by Ida Ray and his sister Laurie Cox and sadly missed by his children, Lori, Lynn (Wayne), Larry (Bunny), Lorne and grandchildren, Lauren (Gus), Kristen, Laine (Zach), Bria, Kevin and Keith. Prior to his retirement, Murray worked in the farm implement business, working at Tractor Supply and Fyfe Parts. Murray was a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous and a sponsor to many others - all of whom feel a great loss. Murray's 46 years of sobriety were a source of great pride to him and his family. Thanks to the good friends who stayed by his side over the years and remained there until the end. A true handyman who always had a new project on the go, Murray also enjoyed spending time outdoors at Falcon Lake and in the later years at Lac Lu. He loved his travels and adventures in their mobile home with Ray and Lorne and his ski trips with the boys. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital, Devonshire House and the home care team for their care and support. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place Tuesday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler @ Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to Lorne K. Mitchell for his future care expenses or to the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba. He who dies with the most tools wins Murray was much loved and will be dearly missed God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change The courage to change the things I can And the wisdom to know the difference... Rest in peace Papa
