It was a pleasure meeting Russ and Georgina at the Amy reunion in WinnIpeg. We also much appreciated the mounted memorabilia that was personally delivered later. We reflected often on what a great event they hosted and hoped Russ and Georgina were enjoying life. Donna, my wife, had done most of the family research we shared. Unfortunately she was a victim of ALS and passed away in September 2006. In 2011 I took a trip that included three days with our Edgell cousins in New Zealand. More great relatives to meet. I am pleased that I had the honour of enjoying good time with the Russ Amy family. Sincere condolences. David - Posted by: David Ripley (Cousin ) on: Jul 28, 2014

To all the family, I was very sad to hear of Uncle Russ' passing. I have not seen him in years but still remember his wit and humor. He always made those around him laugh. The video he took back in 1975 at mine and Greg's wedding is still vivid in my mind, with him dancing up a storm!! Love you Uncle Russ.......I will miss you! - Posted by: Wendy Smith (niece (in law)) on: Mar 01, 2012

Georgoma; I will always remember Russ as a friendly vital man with a twinkle in his eyes. It is with much sorrow that I realize that Russ has gone to his heavenly home but it is with great joy that I know that Russ is with his Heavenly Father. I worked with Russ at Hignell printing for 15 years, and looking back, a lot of the technical things that helped me in my later years in the printing trade were from his experience. His sense of humour and personality were one of his biggest assets. My condolences to Russ's family - Posted by: Gordon Duke (Friend) on: Feb 29, 2012

I didn't know Mr. Amy very well (we went to the same church), but I will always remember the times he was at our prayer group Christmas parties--he'd always make us laugh, and play his guitar! I also remember when my dad took me over to his house when I was kid to see his train setup--it was really something! I'll never forget that! Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. - Posted by: Karen Jurkowski () on: Feb 29, 2012

We remember Russ with a musical instrument in his hand, always adding a certain joy to a family "get together". Gentle in spirit, he encouraged participation in the singing or dancing. His gay spirit was true to his nature, and spread joy to all assembled. May he play the banjo with the angels! - Posted by: Charlotte and Paul Westdal (family friend) on: Feb 28, 2012

I met Russ while I was working as secretary at St. Alphonsus Parish. The family lived on Donalda and Russ would pop in from time to time to pick up a bulletin, or just have a little chat. He was a delightful man. He always had a story to share and brightened our day. He was fiercely proud of his girls and his eyes shone when he spoke of the grandkids! It's folks like Russ who make this world a better place. Rest in Peace! - Posted by: Gloria Metzger (friend) on: Feb 28, 2012
