Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVLADIMIR WALTER KOZAK Vladimir Walter Kozak passed away suddenly at Concordia Hospital on February 26, 2012 at the age of 76 years. He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 44 years Elizabeth (nee Goetz); daughter Laurie (Michael Block); son Glen and grandson Talon Kozak Van Block; sisters, Theresa Antoniuk (friend John), Rose Fedorchuk (Bill), Bernice Murphy (John), Eleanor Hart (Lawrence) and Sylvia Fjeldsted (Kris); mother-in-law Elsie Goetz; in-laws: Harold Goetz (Margaret), Calvin Goetz (Sharon) and Audrey Feltham (David); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Vladimir was predeceased by his parents, John and Julie; brother Nestor; brother-in-law Steve Antoniuk and father-in-law William Goetz. Vladimir was born on April 19, 1935 in his family homestead in Tolstoi, MB, where he was raised and educated. He helped on the family farm for many years, even while working full-time and raising a family in Winnipeg. Vladimir, a very strong man and an extremely hard worker, acquired many trades: electrician, plumber, carpenter, welder, mechanic and construction, and even trucked. He worked at Bristol Aerospace from 1966 as a Sheet Metal Mechanics till he retired in 2000. Vladimir was musically gifted, playing the accordion, guitar and harmonica by ear. He loved sports and was a registered umpire for softball and baseball. Vladimir will be remembered for his work ethics, integrity, generous spirit, helping nature, and sense of humour, he loved to tease. Talon, his only grandson, born in 2009, brought Papa a new zest for life and a twinkle in his eye. Papa will be greatly missed by all. A celebration of Vladimir's life will be held Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Avenue, with viewing one hour prior to service. Many a morning we met his good natured self shortly after he booked in for the early spot. He tried to get the closest parking spot. Will always remember his smile despite the pain he was in. All the best to wife [about whom he talked often] and family. He was a great guy. - Posted by: Donna Besant (Nurse at St B) on: Mar 06, 2012
