ISOBEL ELSIE AMES SMITH MCDOUGALL April 1923 March 2012 Peacefully, on March 7, 2012, Isobel Elsie Ames Smith McDougall passed away at the age of 88. Isobel was predeceased by her husband Colin in 2005 and her son, Gerald in 1987. She will be dearly missed by her sons, Bill (Jo-Ann), Don (Bonnie), Robbie, and Allan; her daughter, Linda. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and one brother, Bill (Ethel). Mom will always be remembered for her strong, welcoming, discrete, and gentle disposition. Sunday family dinners were very important. Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, Isobel saw to it that music, song and dance were an integral part of her children's lives. During their 62 years of marriage, Mom and Dad would enjoy many evenings together when Dad played in the band, and later, when their children sang and played in bands. We know that Mom and Dad will enjoy dancing once again. The family would like to thank all of Isobel's Caregivers for their love, support and companionship, especially during her last years at Misericordia Place. Vigil will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Emile RC Church, 556 St. Anne's Road. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Emile Church. Entombment will take place following the service at Our Lady of Hope Mausoleum in Green Acres Cemetery, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Isobel's memory to the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation, 99 Cornish Ave., Wpg, MB R3C 1A2; The Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Wpg, MB R3T 0R3 or The Gerald McDougall Memorial Foundation, 98 Monck Ave., Wpg, MB R2H 1W9.
