WILLIAM (BILL) LAZARUK December 4, 1917 - March 24, 2012 It is with great sorrow and saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father Bill Lazaruk, at 94 years of age. Dad leaves to mourn his four children: primary caregiver and son Jack, daughters, Lynda, Beverly and Marie; grandchildren: Clint Sundseth (wife Yvette), great-grandson Jersey; and Daniel and Stephanie Pancoe; his family: sister Ann Kowalchuk, nephew Robert (Bob) Kowalchuk, niece Carrie (Sidney) Smid and family, and niece Connie (Ivan) LeBlanc. Dad was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Myrtle, parents John and Elena, sister Mary, infant sister Marie, and son-in-law Doug Pancoe. Dad was born and educated in Transcona, MB, served as Chief Petty Officer in the Navy during the war, married our mom on February 9, 1946, and started his life long career with C.N.R. Transcona Shops as a Machinist, retiring from the railway at 65 years of age and starting a new career with the Commissionaire Corps working at the Armed Forces base, finally retiring at 74 years of age to care for our mom. Our Dad was a very strong man, our pillar of strength, who worked endlessly to provide for his family. Dad had a great mechanical mind which served well his passion for fixing cars and being able to build anything. There really wasn't anything our Dad couldn't do and if he found something to be a challenge he would research things for hours until he found the right way. He also had a great love for dogs (Princess) and was a regular contributor to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Dad was very proud of his grandchildren's accomplishments, loved watching his grandsons Clint and Danny play hockey over the years and enjoyed being their Hockey Dad, following Stephanie's dance steps and university achievements and also loved to hear about his great-grandson Jersey's activities and sporting events. To honour and respect our Dad's wishes, there will not be a formal service. Dad, thanks for everything. We love you. May you Rest in Peace.

  • Dear Marie, We would like to express our sincere condolences on the recent passing of your father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. As you know, it was long ago that my own father passed away, so I have some idea of what you and your family are going through. No comfort is quite enough to replace the loss. Please pass my deepest sympathies on to your family. Love Toby and Mary Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."
