ANNA WIENS (nee LOEPP) August 25, 1926 - March 31, 2012 In loving memory of Anna, who passed away at Concordia Hospital early March 31, 2012, at the age of 85, after a short struggle with illness. She is survived by daughter Ingrid (Holger); sons Robert (Maryam), Freddy (Haedy) and Harry (Pat); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Sara (Franz), and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Nicolas; parents Anna and Franz; sister Maria, and brothers Peter, Abraham and Jakob. Anna was born in Marienthal, Ukraine and immigrated to Paraguay with her mother, two sisters and one brother in 1947 with the help of M.C.C. She was baptized in the Mennonite church and lived out her strong faith and trust in the Lord. Anna married Nicolas on May 23, 1953 and immigrated to Canada in February, 1965. Anna loved to care for people. She never missed an opportunity to share her gift of hospitality and was happiest with family and friends enjoying her excellent cuisine. She was always ready to give hugs and loved to laugh and play games, especially Dominoes. She enjoyed gardening and particularly time at their cottage. After retiring from working at the Canadian Wheat Board, she helped out at the M.C.C. Thrift Store. A special thank you to the medical staff at Concordia Hospital and Home Care workers for their exceptional care and kindness, Donwood Manor staff for their love and support and to those who gave friendship and visits to Anna. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sargent Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield St. Viewing prior to the service. Donations accepted for M.C.C in lieu of flowers.
