GIM ON ENG It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gim On Eng at the age of 82 on March 29, 2012 in North Vancouver, BC. Gim arrived in Canada from China in 1952 where he settled in Shoal Lake, MB until 1986. He then retired to Winnipeg and was there until early 1991, then moving to North Vancouver, BC until his passing. He also lived in Victoria, BC from 1996 to 1998. He is predeceased by his wife, Woo Ping and his parents Choon Wo, Yuet Ngor and brother Kim Kwok. He is survived by his children: Lily (Alfred), Kenny (Maria), Barry (Shanna), May (James), Mary (Thomas), George (Isabel), 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and always put his Family first. He enjoyed all wildlife, dogs, was a great handyman and loved spending time taking care of his car. He was a big Vancouver Canucks hockey fan, clapping after every goal and win. He was a loyal, brave and strong man. He will be dearly missed as he touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was truly the best father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be in our hearts and thoughts forever. We would like to thank Dr. Klimo, Dr. Smiljanic, Dr. Walker and all the staff at Lions Gate Hospital and the North Shore Hospice for all their care and kindness. A private family service will be held on April 5, 2012. He will be laid to rest at Thomson In the Park Cemetery in Winnipeg. For those wishing you may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory. Bardal Funeral Home and Crematorium 774-7474

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My sympathies to the family for the loss of your father/grandfather. I remember going the the store in Shoal Lake to get penny bubble gum or bring back empty pop bottles and get candy for them and your dad always had such a big smile on his face! He will be missed! - Posted by: Marie Gryjack Sherred (friend to son George) on: Apr 06, 2012
