Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE PRIEUR (nee PAUL) On Wednesday, April 4, 2012 Irene Prieur passed away at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre, at the age of 96. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Irene Lee, Eugene (Michelle), Raymond (Annette), and Denise (Roy Boyle), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For eight years, she was mother to Richard Dorge after her niece Claudette died when Richard was only three months old. She was predeceased by her husband Gene in 1998, her mother Rose and father Oswald Paul, her sister Viola Brown, her brother Roger, and son-in-law Tom Lee. Family was very important to Irene. She was a stay at home mother, who made sure that her children were well cared for and that supper was always ready when Gene came home from work. She was happiest when the whole gang was together and for many years, Friday evening was spent at her place, having a drink and playing cards. At the Golden Door she enjoyed playing crib with the family. Memère won more games than she lost, winning the last one she played last Friday. A deeply religious woman, her rosary was a constant companion, and she looked forward to receiving communion from Father Barry and was disappointed if he couldn't come. The funeral service will be held at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road, on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Richard L'Archer officiating. Reception to follow at Sts-Martyrs-Canadiens Church Hall, 289 Dussault Ave. Interment will take place at St. Boniface Cemetery. The family would like to thank the personnel at Golden Door Geriatric Centre for their care of our mother, and also thank you to Father Barry Schoonbaert of St. Vital Parish.
