Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEREND WESTERIK Promoted to Glory! Berend (Bert) Westerik left this earth to be with Jesus, his Lord and Saviour, on April 17 2012. Bert will be greatly missed by Anne, his wife of 35 years, eight children: Jenny (John, deceased), Betty (Klaus), Alice (Cliff), Henriette (Dave), Roelien (John), Brent (Jenny), Yolanda (Donnie) and Carol (Ken), three stepchildren: Lois, Lorraine and Larry, niece Jennine, as well as 26 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and two sisters: Bini and Jenny. Bert was predeceased by his first wife, Roelie, son-in-law John Eggink, stepson-in-law Ken, grandchildren Amber and Daniel, brothers Bernard and John and sisters Lien and Aaltje. We were blessed to be able to share our husband/dad's last days, enjoying his good sense of humor and surrounding him with the singing of hymns and songs of praise. Truly, the family that prays together stays together. We thank him for praying with us and for us through the years! We would like to thank all those involved with him this past week at Concordia Hospital. We couldn't be more thankful for the wonderful treatment he received. A visitation will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Join us in a celebration of Bert's life at the Transcona Christian Reformed Church on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Donations in Bert's memory may be made to the Back to God Hour or the Union Gospel Mission. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
