Rosalia was predeceased by her husband Stefan in October 2007; her parents Sofia and Mykhailo in Ukraine; and her two brothers, Ivan in Germany and Stefan in Ukraine. Rosalia was born in the village of Berehove in Ukraine on March 12, 1923. She spent her childhood in a war-ridden Ukraine where she experienced many hardships and personal losses. As a young girl of 16, she was forced to work in the German camp in the kitchen and farm work.
