JAMES (JIM) A. GUNN James (Jim) A. Gunn was called home on Monday, May 7, 2012 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Nakina, Ontario August 20, 1930 to Siama and John Gunn. Jim leaves behind his loving wife Wilma, of 59 years, his daughter Geraldine Nazvesky (Albert), son Tedd Gunn (Janet), granddaughters Catherine Roy (Denis), Malinda Nazvesky, grandsons Nicholas Nazvesky (Shannon), Dr. Pat Allision, and great-grandchildren Nathan and Grace Roy. Jim also leaves behind his younger brother Doug Gunn (Lois), and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his mother and father, sister Jean, and brothers Emil Block and Bill Gunn. Jim was a very hard worker right from an early age. During his life Jim worked at many, many jobs. A mechanic at Kings Service Station, to tree planting at the nursery in Thunder Bay, to owning his own service station, to working at Mattabi Mines. In his later years, Jim came to Manitoba to work with his brother-in-law Ted Thomas at Accurate Leveling. Jim loved the great outdoors where he and Wilma spent many wonderful hours fishing and picking blueberries. Many wonderful hours were spent around the campfires. Jim and Wilma returned to the Ignace area every summer for pickerel fishing and great times spent with family and friends. Jim was also very involved in his church and helped out with whatever he could. He was a very quiet and caring man, a man of few words and would help anyone at any time. We would like to say Thank You to the Palliative Care Unit, the homecare nurse, the doctors at CancerCare, Dr. Demsas for all his help and care, to the nurses in the Chemo Room and everyone at the hospital who worked to keep him comfortable. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to The North Eastman Health Association, 24 Aberdeen Avenue, Box 339, Pinawa, MB R0E 1L0. Jim will be very sadly missed by all his family and friends. We will love you always.
