EMIL RESKE October 10, 1925 - June 9, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear father Emil Reske. Our dad was born in a small village in Poland on October 10, 1925. He is predeceased by his wife Violet in 1984, son Ron in 1967 and daughter Iris in 2004. He will be sadly missed by his companion Pauline, of 26 years, daughter Lorraine (Tony), son Richard (Crystal), son Donny, granddaughter Ashley, and son-in-law Rick (Betty); Pauline's children Allen (Nona), Wayne (Norma) and Carolyn (Larry) along with their children. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters Ann (Eldon), Harry (Dorothy), Esther (Alex), Henry (Doreen), Edward (Alla), William (Norma) and Helen. As a young man dad travelled to British Columbia with some friends to work in the ship yards. A short time later he returned to Green Bay, MB so he could pursue his desire to start farming. It was there that he married our mother Violet Litke in 1954. Dad had many jobs. He worked in the bush cutting down trees. He developed his skills as a carpenter and worked for many years in that field of work. Dad never complained and did whatever it took to fulfill his ambition of owning his own farm. Dad worked very hard and accepted all of the challenges life brought his way. He shared his passion for farming with his brother Henry. Together they worked and supported each other seeding, combining and repairing equipment. They were a great team! Dad retired from farming in 1988 and moved to Beausejour. Our dad never really understood the word RETIREMENT! He could be found working on the farm with his son Richard or lending a hand to family and friends. He enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening, watching the news and of course having coffee with all his friends at Chicken Delight. In his retirement years, dad volunteered at the Pioneer Village Museum in Beausejour. He enjoyed the people there and of course the work. He was a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Our love and memories of dad will be forever cherished. God gave us the best dad we could ever ask for and he will be forever in our hearts. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 14 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour with Pastor Mark Koenker presiding. Viewing prior to the service will commence at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations can be made in Emil's name to the Broken-Beau Historical Society, Box 310, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
