ARTHUR DE GROOT April 22, 1927 - June 8, 2012 It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Arthur De Groot on Friday, June 8, 2012, at 85 years of age. Remaining to forever cherish his memory is his wife Dercontee Sawbo De Groot, daughter Sweet Ade Sawbo (Dustan), granddaughter Dercontee De Groot, nephews Aaron Sawbo and Greg De Groot and sister Anne Foster. He also leaves his father-in-law John, brothers-in-law Jeremiah, Albert and Austin, sisters-in-law Ade, Marie and Jackie, along with other relatives and the Liberian Community. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Sadie and brothers Dave and Ed. Arthur was born in Bird's Hill and later moved to Winnipeg. He worked for Manitoba Hydro for more than 20 years. He was a kind, jovial man and always made people laugh. He was deeply loved and will be forever missed by his family and friends. Funeral Service will be Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating. Viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
