BOB DUNCAN
Born: May 03, 1951
Date of Passing: Jul 06, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBOB DUNCAN Robert Richard Duncan was born May 3, 1951 and passed away July 6, 2012 after a battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his father Robert (Bert) Duncan December 24, 2011, his uncle John Duncan, grandparents John and Isa Duncan and Richard and Rose Elsie Burton. Bob is survived by his mother Betty, his partner Carolyn, brothers David (Elizabeth) and Paul (Margaret), aunts Louise and Margaret (Ted), nephews Cameron (Natalie) and Burton (Kate), niece Megan (Mike), and cousins Barbara (Neville), Edward and Lahra. Bob was born in Winnipeg and lived in East and North Kildonan all his life. From an early age Bob's passion was cars and the outdoors, which led to his love of fishing and hunting. His weekends, holidays and days off were spent on the water, the ice or in the bush. Bob worked for his parents at the House of Silver, and eventually took over the business. He became a great friend to all his customers, helping and advising them on enhancing their silverware or chrome for their cars and bikes. He was known for his quality and attention to detail, and received work from across Canada and the States. Bob had many close friends with Alfie Dyck being his buddy since school days and the boys from the Villa . The family would like to thank all Bob's caregivers at Concordia Hospital, and especially to Carolyn for her devotion to Bob. Cremation has taken place, and at Bob's request, a private service will be held on Friday, July 13 with a gathering of his friends at the usual Friday meeting place, the NorVilla after 4:00 p.m.

Just found out about Bob. Been getting things plated there for 20 years on and off. He was always great to talk to and would help all he could. I will miss the trips to his shop to see him and talk about hot rods and showcars. - Posted by: ward Anderson () on: May 23, 2013

Had time to let customers talk of their car projects, & delivered quality work, that will be envied, by other companies. When there is a special shine that comes from heaven, it will be Bob, polishing his chrome. God bless. - Posted by: Diane (Customer) on: Jul 11, 2012

Some people come into our lives and quickly go and some people stay a while and touch our hearts and we are never the same. 40 years ago you touched my heart and for us there are no good-byes...only until we meet again! Thank you my friend for all the fond memories we have shared over the years, I will treasure them always. (Catch you at the Villa this Friday at 4). - Posted by: Colleen (Friend) on: Jul 11, 2012

I am truly saddened by Bob's passing. I used to bring him numerous pieces of Birk's Louis XV regularly and we talked about his craft & my collection. I even suggested different herbs & supplements that could have helped him through his fight. Bob could appreciate the beauty of every sterling silver piece and he always put his very special and unique craftsmanship to work on every piece and often made it better than new. I thank him for that. - Posted by: Jean-Pierre (customer) on: Jul 11, 2012
