ALECK JAMES ROBSON With sad hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Aleck James Robson, on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Aleck will be lovingly remembered by his son Jeff; daughter Jackie (Randy), and by grandsons Adam and Matthew. He is predeceased by his wife Norma who passed away on September 21, 2004. Besides his immediate family, Aleck is survived by his sister Daisy Macdonald. He is predeceased by brother Leo, brother Bill, sister Ethel and brother Kenny. Aleck was born in Chater, Manitoba on December 31, 1926. In his early years he lived on the farm where he developed his love of nature. He attended school in Chater and later felt a calling to enter the world of teaching. Aleck spent 39 years in education both as a teacher and an administrator. During that time, he married Norma Rempel and they spent 45 happy years together before her passing in 2004. Many summers were spent with family at the cabin at Falcon Lake. There Aleck enjoyed hiking, berry picking and swimming. Aleck was an artist and spent many hours painting, drawing and creating beautiful pictures. His art was an expression of his love of God's creation. Aleck spent time creating stories, poetry and writing in his journals. He recently wrote, My greatest joys in the last stages of my life have been my family and my many true and faithful friends. The family extends their thanks to dad's friends for their concerns and compassion. Our thanks also go to Dr. Van Jaarsveldt for his kindness and care. There will be a viewing on Thursday, July 19, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. 1 East at Navin Road and at the church prior to the service on Friday. The service will be held on Friday, July 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Eastview Community Church (3500 DeVries Ave., East St. Paul). In lieu of flowers, donations in Aleck's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
