OLGA (ORLA) KLOWAK (MANCHULENKO)
Born: Dec 04, 1924
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA (ORLA) KLOWAK (nee MANCHULENKO) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother, sister, baba, auntie, cousin and friend, Orla Klowak. Orla was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 4, 1924. She lived her entire life in the North End where she went to school and worked in her family's restaurant until it closed down. Shortly thereafter, North West Laundry employed her until she retired. Orla volunteered countless hours at her church and was infamous for her delicious, homemade perogies. Ever the comedian, she referred to her annual, two-week volunteerism at the church's camp, as her Hawaiian Vacation. Orla was a compassionate, caring, funny and nurturing person who had a heart made out of pure gold; she will forever be remembered for her amazing spirit. Orla is survived by her brother, Don (Bogo); children, Gary Klowak (Michelle), Marilyn Crakewich, Marge Kitzul (Wally); grandchildren, Allen (Erin), Marnie (Nick), Meghann (Brett), Amity (Kris); great-grandchildren, Kaylan, Austin, Kylie, Isaac, Shelby, Owen; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Orla is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Klowak; her parents, Emmanuel and Mary Manchulenko; siblings, Kathleen and Matthew; and her son-in-law, George Crakewich. Funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 17 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, as Orla only enjoyed flowers growing in the earth rather than cut. We ask that you please make donations in Orla's name to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, 3062 Portage Avenue, 204-832-PETS (7387) as she was an animal lover. Special thanks to the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their care and kindness towards Orla over the past few years and also to the doctors and nurses on 5E Medicine at St. Boniface General Hospital. Special thanks to her nurse Nicole. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193

Marilyn and Gary I am sorry to hear about your mother but am sure that she will be at peace with her Creator. I was friends with Marilyn and George having known George since high school days. And, quite coincidentally, not knowing that Gary is your brother, I spent many phone calls bending Gary's ear regarding my EIA problems in the workplace. I am retired now but have passed Gary's name onto a colleague. Continue your great work Gary, and God Bless you both susan - Posted by: susan lang () on: Mar 19, 2013
