LORNE PAPIZ On Monday, August 27, 2012 surrounded by his family, Lorne passed on to a better place. He fought so hard to stay but it just was not meant to be. Lorne is survived by his wife Bev (Fehr), sons Michael (Anna-Marie), Ron, granddaughter Shae-Lynn, sister Shirl (Don) and many other family members. Lorne was born and raised in the north-end of Winnipeg and often spoke of his many friends and experiences during this time. He went from a paper route to heavy duty mechanic, part time jobs fixing cars, and mechanical drafting. He retired from The City in 1993 after 35 years. His life revolved around winters in Arizona and summers at the cottage in Grand Beach. The family would like to extend a big thank you to the St. Boniface Heart Failure Clinic - especially to Kelly, Dr. Malik, Rose, and Dr. Cordova. We depended on you so much. You made us feel special - like we were your only concern. Your care and compassion were greatly appreciated. A private service had taken place. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the St. Boniface Heart Failure Clinic or a charity of your choice. We will miss you. You will be forever in our hearts.

We just heard the news and are so saddened. Lorne was our Monday and Wednesday morning smile here at Shooters. He always had a story, a joke, and the group always went to the course laughing. Lorne and the boys brighten our clubhouse after the round as well. We will miss him. Our deepest sympathy to Bev and his family. I hadn't seen Uncle Lorne in many many years. Life and distance played a part in that. What I do remember is his laugh and his smile. You always think there will be time to catch up but time is short, don't wait. I am sorry I did. - Posted by: Candy Erker ( Ripmeester ) (Niece) on: Sep 01, 2012
