ELEANOR (JUNE) PATTERSON Peacefully, after a lingering illness, Eleanor June Patterson, known to her friends and family as June, passed away quietly and free of pain in the SICU at the Health Sciences Centre at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, 2012, in the presence of her brother, Ernie and sister-in-law, Karla and numerous Health Sciences Centre staff. We will all miss June, both family and friends alike, for her dedication, kindness and loyalty to all. June's friends are too numerous to mention individually, but she sincerely cared for all of them equally. Special consideration for their long-term friendship and affection is Gabriele (Gabe) Elzer. Also special consideration should be given to Angelo and Darlene, caring neighbours who were always there to help when needed and to share their passion for Tim Horton specials. June had a special appreciation for all of her friends at Vital Statistics where she worked happily for many years, they all remained friends for years afterwards. June was predeceased by her loving mother, Hazel on April 29, 2005, and father James in November 1958. June is survived by her brother Ernie, sister-in-law Karla as well as cousins Arlene Weed and Bob Morton who reside in the USA. We cannot tell you how much June will be missed for there is no measure that high. Finally, June will find the peace she sought for so long. She will be free of pain and continue smiling as was her nature. We will all remember privately the happy times we each spent with her. She cared immensely for all of us and as you know, her word was her bond. Sleep peacefully June -- you have truly earned the right to do so. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations to CancerCare would be most appreciated. As you know, private services have already taken place at June's request as previously reported in this newspaper. 284-7500

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I still think about you every single day. You were SO MUCH FUN!I remember the time you glued a nickel on the floor for the stupid manager that was always picking up money off the floor. I never knew you did it until we sat and watched him desperate to get that nickel - then you let me in on your secret. I thought I would die laughing. You are and will always be a hoot. Love you always. Val - Posted by: val johnston (friend) on: Feb 01, 2014

  • June and I have been friends for many years. Everytime we had a family function, June was invited as we all considered her to be a family member. I miss our daily phone calls and will never forget the special friendship we had. Love you June. My thoughts are with Ernie and Karla at this time. - Posted by: Gail Pelley (Best Friend) on: Sep 17, 2012
