Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRMA BERNICE WARK (nee DIXON) Unexpectedly and peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2012, Irma Wark of Winnipeg, MB, passed away at the age of 82 years. Irma will be dearly missed by her beloved husband Lyle, of over 58 years; children Terry (Amber) Wark and Dan (Shirley) Wark; grandchildren Erin (Robbie), Franz, Krista (Shelley), Kara (Chris), Cory, Kayla, Kasha and great-grandchildren Cody, Landon, Talon, Katie and Findlay, and her sister Diane. She was predeceased by her parents Elton and Bernice; her sisters Verna and Jean, and her brother Donald. Irma was born and raised in Rocanville, SK. She met her soul mate Lyle in Kenora, ON and they were married in 1954. After brief stays in Winnipeg Beach and Dauphin, they then moved to Winnipeg and together they raised their children there. While raising her family, Irma worked at the Paddock Restaurant, and then at the Eaton's Company for 20 years until she retired in 1993. Irma loved snowmobiling and camping and she and Lyle were members of the Spring Hill Trail Blazer Snowmobile Club and the Good Sam Club. Irma greatly enjoyed all the visits she received from family, friends and neighbours over the years. Irma had many fun times with family and friends and many happy memories with all. Irma loved to cook and socialize. She loved to reminisce about the past. We could always rely on Irma to set us straight on many topics. She thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years, traveling with Lyle to many places. A special thanks to Joan and Jerry for being there for Lyle through this difficult time. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at Henderson Highway. Cremation will follow the memorial service. A private family interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Irma's memory to the Terry Fox Foundation. Mom - your legacy is one of love and of strength of character. You will forever be in our hearts. We love you and will miss you.

Grandma, I can hardly believe that it’s been ten years since you passed. I hear your voice and your words of wisdom in my head every single day. You taught me so much about life, love and relationships. You taught me to always treat others with kindness and respect. You also taught me how important a great sense of humour is and how helpful humour can be in almost every situation. I’m forever grateful to you and I miss you my dearest, best friend Grandma. - Posted by: Erin Craig (Granddaughter ) on: Sep 10, 2022

I grew up close to where she lived and got to know her well as I used to deliver the Tribune paper to her house - she was always kind and soft spoken - our sympathy goes out to the family - Posted by: ERWIN AND TAMMY LUTZER (Friends) on: Oct 04, 2012

Irma had said to me a number of times how she felt very fortunate to be part of the Wark family. We (The Wark's) were the ones that were fortunate. Always a smile, always participating in all functions and contributed a great deal. Irma will sadly be missed. Our thoughts are with Lyle, Terry, and Danny and family. - Posted by: Judy and Sam Neill (Lyle's cousin) on: Sep 13, 2012

Condolences to the Wark family at this time of Irma's passing. She has been a friend and neighbour of many years...always cheerful and smiling...truly a warm and charming lady. We will miss saying our hellos to her over the fence. - Posted by: The Ryland family (neighbour) on: Sep 11, 2012
