Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURA JOAN WOJCIECHOWSKI (nee BIEDRON) March 31, 1932 - September 12, 2012 Joan Wojciechowski passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Pinawa Hospital. Joan is survived by her cousins Bernard Biedron, Leonard Biedron and many other cousins, three godchildren Leonard, Christine and Raymond and neighbours Ed and Ruth Owsiak and Aunt Frances Puchniak. She was predeceased by her mother Mary, her husband David and many uncle, aunts and cousins. Joan was born in Winnipeg, MB and spent her childhood on the farm in Cooks Creek. She attended Zora School in Cooks Creek, High School in Oakbank and St. Mary's Academy in Winnipeg. She attended the University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree. Her teaching career began as a permit teacher in Red Deer School where she met her future husband David. She also taught in Garson, MB, Zora School in Cooks Creek, Vivian High School and Park Avenue School in Lac du Bonnet for 28 years. Joan was a CWL (Catholic Women's League) Member in St. Mary Church in Beausejour for many years as well as a member of the Notre Dame du Lac Ladies Group. She also served on Council for the Notre Dame du Lac Church. Joan had many hobbies. She loved to read, paint, paper tole, sew, knit and travel. She taught 4H in Oakbank and Lac du Bonnet. Her passions were her church, her flowers, travel, baking, teaching and books. A special thank you to the staff at Pinawa Hospital and Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Lac du Bonnet, MB. Prayers will be said Friday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. also at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Notre Dame du Lac Roman Catholic Church, Box 399, Lac du Bonnet, MB R0E 1A0. I can honestly say, she was a wonderful person inside, outside, through heart and soul. I have only seen her with smiles on her face! She always spoke with care and compassion. She was one of a kind and She will be missed! My sincere condolences to her family and friends. Joan will forever remain in our hearts and in our memories.
