ANASTASIA MANDYBUR It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wife and mother Anastasia Mandybur, on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Holy Family Home. Anastasia leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Onufrij, daughter Halia, sister-in-law Halyna along with nieces and nephews in Ukraine. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Maria, stepbrother Ivan, and sister Hannia. Anastasia was born in selo Novosilka, Ukraine, January 5, 1928. She lost both parents by the age of seven. At the age of 14 she was taken to work on a farm in Germany during the Second World War. After the war Anastasia lived in a displaced person's camp in Germany where eventually she met her future husband Onufrij. Anastasia then moved to England and was followed shortly thereafter by Onufrij where they were married. They lived in England for five years and then immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1953. Anastasia was always a very active woman. She was a great cook and baker. Anastasia always had a very plentiful vegetable garden. She also loved to sew and embroider whenever she had a little extra time. Anastasia had a soft spot for animals, always feeding stray and neglected animals in the neighbourhood. Religion was always an important part of Anastasia's life. She and Onufrij were members of Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church for over 50 years. After they were retired, Anastasia and Onufrij enjoyed participating in the senior's club at the Church. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Holy Family Home (2A) for their excellent care of Anastasia. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29 at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave. with Fr. Volodymyr Bashutskyy officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Anastasia may be made to Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. MISS ME, BUT LET ME GO When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long And not with your head bowed low, Remember the love that we once shared Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone, It's all part of the Master's Plan A step on the road to home. So when you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know, And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds Miss me, but let me go. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193
