SELMA WIEBE (nee DERKSEN) May 8, 1924 October 16, 2012 Peacefully with her family by her side, Selma Wiebe, passed away on October 16, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Mom was born in Russia and immigrated to Canada at the age of three. Her happy childhood was spent in Gardenton, MB. As a young career woman, mom lived and worked in Toronto and moved back to Winnipeg to marry Peter Wiebe in 1943. They spent their married life raising their family in Wildewood Park and enjoyed many fun times at their cabin at Falcon Lake. Selma is survived by her husband of 69 years, Peter and their four children Ron, Pat (Dennis), Jan (Neil) and Peter (Karen) along with 10 grandchildren and six great-grand-children. She was predeceased by her first born grandson, Timothy. A celebration of her life will take place on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Voyage Funeral Home, 1073 St. Mary's Rd. (located in Evangel Chapel). To honour Selma's love of animals, donations in her memory can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way.
