My thoughts are with you, Brian and Craig at this time. You as I, was with my own father, were able to have many wonderful years with Brian's dad. I know how important he was to you. I know what a great grandfather he was to Craig. He will be missed. - Posted by: Lois Wales (friend to daughter-in-law Bev) on: Oct 24, 2012

We wish to extend our deepest sympathies to George's family. As young boys, all three of us had the pleasure of shadowing our (Great) Uncle George at Canada Messenger. Often with a pencil behind his ear, and always with a smile on his face, George played a significant role in our transition to adulthood. On some level this was simply done with the use of a notepad, power tools, keys to an unforgettable truck with no steering (good ol’ #14), but most of all he showed us how to keep a love of the day and endless understanding. I would think our most fond memory would be how our grandmother (Kathy) would shine when he visited, which would quickly follow with some lighthearted ribbing. A great example of how family will always mean the world to you, at any stage of life. Regrettably we will be unable to attend the service, but would like to once again extend our condolences and pay our respects to a man we will always remember. - Posted by: Michael, Yujin, and family - Tyler Charlene, and family - Kevin, Merrilee, and family (Great nephews) on: Oct 23, 2012

I remember coming into East Gate to visit my father Joe Marek. I would ask the girls where he was and they would always say "he is with George somewhere." Once I found them having a good time together, we kept talking much longer about the good times they used to have. So long George, say hi to Joe for me. We would like to express our condolences to Richard and Brian and their families on the death of our half brother, George. We are sorry that we cannot be at the memorial service on the 24th. I (Adele)have some good memories from my childhood of him before he was married. I remember the day he was married as I was one of his flower girls attending. He lived a good, long life and will be remembered with fondness. - Posted by: Adele and Howard Pawley (half sister and brother-in-law) on: Oct 20, 2012
