ELFRIEDE KROEGER Elfriede Kroeger, (nee Hiersack), peacefully passed into God's hands Sunday, November 4, 2012. Left to mourn her are her loving husband Arthur Kroeger; their four daughters and respective families: Angela Kroeger-Silverman and Lester Silverman and grandchildren Sophie and AJ. Silverman, Liza Kroeger and Frank Zeitz and granddaughter Olivia Zeitz, Anita Kroeger, Heidi Kroeger and Kevin Edwards and daughter Holly. Elfriede was born in Kielmansthal, Ukraine, August 7, 1924. She immigrated happily to Winnipeg where she married her childhood sweetheart, Arthur. The family enjoyed many happy times with friends at West Hawk Lake, one of Elfriede's favorite places. Elfriede loved entertaining and organizing gatherings. The family travelled extensively, all organized by Elfriede, throughout Canada, USA, Europe and Asia. Sadly, due to Parkinson's Disease Elfriede's condition eventually required her to spend her final years at Bethania Personal Care Home. A Memorial Service, officiated by Rev. Franz Wiebe, will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame at Arlington, Winnipeg, MB.
