GARY NEIL GIESBRECHT B.SC, P.ENG -
Date of Passing: Nov 05, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGARY NEIL GIESBRECHT B.SC, P.ENG 1957 - 2012 It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Gary Giesbrecht on Monday, November 5, 2012. Gary will be always loved and forever missed by his best friend and wife Christine and his beloved children Lindsay and Bryan; his parents Abe and Justina; siblings Alan and his wife Judi Alimonti and Kathy; in-laws Mary Wiebe, Gloria and Peter Hortensius (Dirk, Peter-Ben), Lorraine and Rick Presonka (Ricky, Christopher), Eugene and Karen Wiebe; and his extended family and friends. Gary spent his life well. He cherished and cared for his family. Chris and Gary were a great team and together they nurtured and enjoyed the lives of their children and with pride watched them grow into wonderful young adults. His heart burst with pride recently as Lindsay begun her work at the North End Family Centre and as he watched Bryan play for the University of Manitoba Bison football team. Gary was also a faithful son and brother, his gracious and generous hospitality, which was a great platform for this love of cooking, was one of the beautiful gifts he blessed his family with. Gary loved his vocation, from the moment his curious and concrete-sequential mind met a Meccano set we knew what God had given him to do in the world. Graduating from the University of Manitoba, he came to thoroughly enjoy and have deep satisfaction in his career as a geo-technical engineer. The many years spent with colleagues and students in the Civil Engineering Technology Department at Red River College were days of great joy. It was with deep pride we witnessed his devotion to and love of teaching honoured by the College. The foundation of Gary's life was his faith in God and his devotion to following Jesus. Starting in his home congregation, Burrows Bethel, and continuing to his present congregation Cross Church, he was a faithful servant. A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at Cross Church, 1787 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to be made to the North End Family Centre. www.northendfamilycentre.org

I will always remember his constant laughs with our class and how he took great joy in teaching. So sorry to hear of his early passing. However, it is encouraging to hear that he is a follower of Jesus. May God give you peace and comfort at this time, knowing he is in Heaven with his Heavenly Father. - Posted by: Roxanne Fuchs (former student) on: Nov 22, 2012

I was terribly sad to hear this news. I was a student of Gary's many years ago and always thought very highly of him. My sincerest sympathies to the whole family. - Posted by: Megan Tucker (Student) on: Nov 21, 2012
