BRIAN EDWARD NAIRNE
Born: Oct 03, 1943
Date of Passing: Nov 11, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRIAN EDWARD NAIRNE October 3, 1943 - November 11, 2012 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father. Brian leaves behind Pat, his wife of 45 years, son Chris and daughter Natalie Matthies (Desmond), sister Joyce Cybulski (Ed) and his brother Ken (Elaine). Brian was married in l967. He thrived in the role of Dad and loved watching Chris play hockey and Natalie skate. He also coached and played in an adult hockey league. In the summer he loved camping and swimming. Brian worked at Centra Gas (Manitoba Hydro) for several years and retired in 2008. He filled his retirement years with gardening, sports and home repair projects. He loved to critique hockey and football games with his sister Joyce while sitting with Bella and Angel, his cats. We are grateful to the staff at Victoria Hospital for their kindness and dedication. You laughed at his jokes and treated him with dignity. A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 11:00 am at Voyage Funeral Home, located in Evangel Chapel, 1073 St. Mary's Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an animal shelter.

BRIAN Was a good friend. He offered me hope, when there was nothing that I had. Me and Randy would walk there to see Pat and bRIAN USUALY ON EITHER SATURDAY OR SUNDAY. He had a great deal of patience I suppose to put up with me and Chirp as i called Randy. He and Pat arranged for us to have a meal. Pat felt that I have or still have a good imagination, she felt perhaps I should pursue it. For awhile we had been trying to see them, me and Joyce Lancaster. I wish you well the door will always be open for you Pat, I wish I knew what to do for you. If you need someone to hold you and listen to the things he did for you please call. 943-2974 - Posted by: Richard Edwards (cousin) on: Nov 23, 2012

Dear Chris and Family, Your Dad was a kind and gentle soul who was a pillar of the community and a person I admired greatly. I was greatly saddened to her of his death. He was one of the people who helped me the most during my own childhood. I don't know if you remember, but Mr. Nairne gave me my first set of hockey equipment when our family could not afford to buy it ourselves. He was so patient as our coach as well, and those times for me are full of fond memories; memories made possible by your Dad. I am so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Ian McIntyre () on: Nov 21, 2012

My fondest memories of Brian was when I was visiting my uncle with my dad. He was always smiling and always had kind words to say. Even though we have not talked for a long time he has been in my thoughts, and he will be deeply missed....but never forgotten. - Posted by: Ted Nairne (Cousin - nephew) on: Nov 18, 2012

I had seen little of Brian in my adult life but my memory of him will be his infectious smile and his positive outlook on life. His passing is a shock. Murray - Posted by: Murray Watkin (Cousin) on: Nov 17, 2012
