Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATIE KLIEWER It is with heavy hearts but a profound peace that we announce the passing of Mom on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur on December 8, 2008. Her wish to join her beloved Arthur in heaven is fulfilled. Mom will be dearly missed by her children Louise Enns, Lori Hildebrand (Dave Fehr), Richard (Debbie) Kliewer and Ron Kliewer; grandchildren Melinda Enns (Ross Osmun), Marni (Rob) Enns, Philip Enns, Kathryn (Darryl) Labiuk, Matthew Hildebrand; great-grandchildren Taylia, Megan and Anika Enns, and Eric and Avery Osmun. She will also be sadly missed by her sister Agnes Roesler; sisters-in-law Susan and Tina Kliewer; and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Gussarowka, Russia on October 10, 1926, to Katharina (Friesen) and Jacob Wiebe. She was the seventh of nine children. She immigrated to Canada in November 1948. It was here in Winnipeg that she met Arthur Kliewer. He proposed to her on their first date and they were married on May 31, 1952. The transition to a life in Canada was difficult but Mom found many things to be thankful for. She found much joy in her faith, family and friends. She joined the church choir where her full rich alto was much appreciated. In 1951, she felt honoured to be asked to join the Gospel Light Hour Choir and later the Russian choir in which she sang for 29 years. Years of hard work brought a deserved retirement for Mom and Dad with trips around the globe and winter stays in South Padre Island and Palm Springs. It also meant more time at the cottage, another beacon for family and friends. Mom gave us all so much, the warmth of her embrace, the charm in her smile, and a wonderful sense of humour, an inviting home full of good food and fellowship, and above all her generous love. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. at Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church, 145 Henderson Hwy. with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Family Life Network, 225 Riverton Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2L 0N1.
