BARBARA ANGELA CHASTELLAINE It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Barbara Chastellaine on November 24, 2012 at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 65 years. Barbara leaves to mourn her passing her special friend Steve Chudobiak, children Dan, Vernon, Theresa, Les, and Corise. Grand-children Brittany, Nathan, Alissa, Brenden, Breeann, Eric, and Sierra. Siblings Bill, Verna, Shirley, and Glen as well as Peter W. and Cherise. She was predeceased by parents Victor and Elsie, brother Lester and sister Jean, and ex-husband Daniel. Barbara always had a wonderful sense of humour and that sustained her throughout the challenges she faced during her life. Her native teachers and elders taught her a great deal about her heritage and culture, and she was happy to share that knowledge with all those close to her. Barbara's greatest joy in life was her family, grandchildren, and friends; she will be greatly missed and always remembered. The family conveys their heartfelt thanks to Dr. L. Smith and staff of the Dakota Clinic, the St. Vital WRHA Palliative Care Team, and the Riverview Palliative Care Team on 3 East. Megwetch to the native elder Gerald, from the Brokenhead Reserve, and longtime friend Irene from Peguis. Cremation and a private family committal has taken place at St. Vital Cemetery.
