Though I did not know her, my mother spoke of her often and was in communication with her up to the time of Mom's death in 2007. May she rest in peace. My sympathies to her family. - Posted by: John Tracy (cousin) on: Feb 04, 2013

I just found out about the passing of Dorothy Jane. What a woman she was! Tiny and a force to be reckoned with. Her gruff voice and sense of humour were awesome. Dorothy Jane always made Lynne's and Suzie's friends a part of her family - without question. We spent amny a night at Harry and Lynne's chatting about all sorts of things and she always had he cup of coffee. I remember one Christmas, Harry asked me to pick out Lynne's presents and in one box I told him it was a brooch - it wasn't. I didn't know that Dorothy Jane would be there when Lynn opened that Special box. Dorothy Jane burst out laughing when she saw what was in the box. She had a wonderful sense of humour. To all the family - Charlie and I send our most sincere condolences. Dorothy Jane was one heck of a woman! - Posted by: Nanci Dagg (friend of Lynne) on: Jan 05, 2013

I have known Dorothy since 1981. We worked together at City Welfare for five years until I moved to Vancouver Island in 1986. She and I were joined at the hip helping Welfare Receipients in their recovery. we had many laughs together as well as shed many tears. She taught me a great deal about life. She was a very kind and thankful woman with a great sense of humour while at the same time a little spit fire keeping everyone on their toes.Everyone knew when she was around and she wouldn't take any guff from anyone. She loved to play jokes on people and when she was working she had to sneak her daily little nap in there somewhere, sometimes falling asleep on my arm as she couldn't reach my shoulder. I loved her dearly and she was the only person that I use to send two birthday cards a year to. Her Sobriety birthday in March was the most important one to her. In 1996 we celebrated her 18th year of sobriety by getting lost on the transit while visiting some of our old haunts when we worked together and talked alot about life while enjoying our ice cream. She use to get us lost a lot back then. It was fun. We kept in touch for many years after I left Winnipeg through letters, the odd phone call and visits when I returned to Wpg to see friends. A few years ago she moved from her apartment, cards were returned and I couldn't track her down so I was saddened with not knowing what happened to her. I am glad to hear that she carried on and was well cared for. She will definitely have a big hug waiting for Bandit. I am very sorry for the family's loss as she truely did love her family and friends and she will be missed. - Posted by: Debbie Underhill (friend) on: Dec 14, 2012
