LUCIEN EDMOND JOSEPH CARRIERE 1921 - 2012 C'est avec chagrin que nous annonçons le décès de notre frère, beau-frère, oncle et ami, Lucien Carrière, le mecredi 19 décembre 2012. Il laisse dans le deuil ses soeurs et frères, Cécile Vandal, Rita Nault, Pauline Leclerc, Jean (Lucille), Alice Courcelles, René (Dolorès) et Gloria Wiens. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil plusieurs neveux et nièces et amis. Il fut précédé dans la mort par ses parents Wilfrid et Mary Carrière, sa soeur Noëlla Leclerc, son frère Louis, sa soeur Léonne et sa soeur Marie-Ange Brémaud. Lucien est né le 5 novembre 1921 à Saint-Pierre-Jolys. Vers l'âge de 3 ans il est déménagé à La Broquerie où il a passé une grande partie de sa vie. Toujours souriant, Lucien était un homme avec un bon sens d'humour. Il aimait faire rire ses nombreux neveux et nièces qu'il gâtait et aimait comme ses propres enfants. Lucien était affectueux et tous les enfants le faisaient sourire. Il était un homme chaleureux, travaillant et un homme de grande foi. Lucien a travaillé à la ferme avec son père et plus tard avec son frère Jean jusqu'à sa retraite. Lucien avait de nombreux amis avec qui il aimait faire du curling, jouer aux quilles, jouer au baseball et regarder les parties de hockey des Canadiens de Montréal. Lucien aimait les parties de cartes et jouer avec ses soeurs et frères, neveux et nièces. Lorsqu'on visitait oncle Lucien, il fallait toujours prendre un petit lunch avant de partir. Il s'inquiétait de nous tous comme un bon papa. Un gros merci à Villa Youville et les Soeurs Grises de Ste-Anne d'avoir pris si bien soin de notre cher Lucien. LUCIEN EDMOND JOSEPH CARRIERE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on of our dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend Lucien Carrière on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Lucien leaves behind his sisters and brothers, Cécile Vandal, Rita Nault, Pauline Leclerc, Jean (Lucille), Alice Courcelles, René (Dolorès) and Gloria Wiens and also numerous nieces and nephews spanning three generations. Lucien was born on November 5, 1921 in St-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba. At the age of three years old, his parents moved the family to La Broquerie, Manitoba, where he would spend the next 79 years of his life. In 2002 Lucien went to reside at the Villa Youville in Ste-Anne, where he passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years old surrounded by family. Lucien was passionate about agriculture, working on the family farm with his father and then later on with his brother Jean until he retired. Lucien loved sports, especially hockey and baseball. He was a player and a spectator, and was a member of the Club Sportif of La Broquerie and the arena committee for many years. You could be sure he was watching the Montreal Canadiens play on a Saturday night. Lucien loved playing cards and getting together with family. He enjoyed teasing and spoiling his nieces and nephews, laughing and having fun. A special thanks to the staff of the Villa Youville and the Grey Nuns of Ste-Anne for taking such good care of our Lucien. Tu vas nous manquer Lucien mais nous savons que tu es heureux au ciel avec ta famille. We will miss you dearly Uncle Luke. Repose en paix cher Lucien! Tu seras toujours dans nos coeurs! The Prayer service will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. (viewing at 10:00 a.m.), both at the St-Joachim Roman Catholic Church in La Broquerie, Manitoba.
