STEFANIA STEFANYSZYN It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing our wife, mother and Baba Stefania on December 22, 2012, as the result of a stroke. Stefania was born on March 30, 1924, to Michael and Evdokia Woloshyn, in the village of Petriliw, Western Ukraine. Stefania and her family arrived in Canada on August 15, 1950, and spent a year in Kylemore, Saskatchewan before moving to Winnipeg where she spent the balance of her life. Once in Winnipeg Mom became active in the Ukrainian community. She sang in the U.N.F. choir, was a member of Institute Prosvita where Mom and her husband Stanley were very active in the Senior's Group. In addition she had been an active parishioner of St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church up until her illness. Stefania retired from the University of Manitoba bakeshop, a job she loved and carried over into her everyday life. Stefania continued to bake, carrot muffins, cakes, pies, rolls and her famous walnut torte. In addition to baking Stefania cross stitched and embroidered may beautiful pictures and blouses that now have become family keepsakes. Christmas was her special holiday and having her family altogether at that time was always important and very special to her. Stefania is survived by her husband Stanley; son Henry (Gail); grandchildren, Kevin (Lenore), Randall (Diana; great-grandchildren John and Joshua; sisters, Anna and Marusia, special niece Irene Waplak (Bohdan) and special grandniece Ivanka Waplak. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Stefania's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Special thanks to the staff at the Holy Family Home, unit 3A for their care and kindness. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193

I knew Stefka since I was a little girl. They visited back and forth with my parents, Anna and Peter, and attended many of the some social functions. My Auntie Violet (my Mother's sister) and Uncle Peter were also close friends with Stefka and her husband Stanley. I still remember when Stanley wallpapered my parents home and how beautiful it was for so many years. Stefka embroidered the picture of the poppies in the bowl that still proudly hangs in my living room today. She was a lovely lady. Rest in peace.
