ANNA DICK (nee SCHROEDER) November 16, 1911 - December 21, 2012 It is with sorrowful hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on December 21, 2012 at Park Manor Personal Care Home. She is now with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and has joined her husband Nick, and her daughter, Rita, in heaven. We were blessed to have our Mom until the age of 101 years, sound of mind and memory. She is survived by her children, Eleonore (Henry) Esau, Henry (Margret) Dick, Anne (Jake) Neufeld, Alf (Jennifer) Dick, and John (husband of the late Rita) McLeod; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; also one brother; one sister; four sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law. Mom volunteered at Grace Hospital for many years and later at the MCC Thrift Shop. She was also active in the ladies auxiliary of her church. When, after 72 years of marriage, Nick passed away in 2005, Mom moved to Donwood Manor where she resided until she relocated to Park Manor. We thank the wonderful staff at Park Manor for the loving care they gave our Mom. Thank you also to Anne and Alf and their spouses for their faithful visits and care given especially in the last few years. A memorial service will be held at Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Avenue, on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Neil Block officiating. Donations in Mom's memory can be made to Mennonite Central Committee and Family Life Network.

  • Bernie and I got to know her as she was our son-in-law's "Oma" What a sweet lady she was. So engaging with people and was always interesting in conversation with her. She was such a "classy " lady. I'm sure she will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Bernie and Irene Driedger (friends) on: Dec 26, 2012
