Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY JOHN MOSKWA It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Stan Moskwa, in Winnipeg, on Saturday, December 22, 2012, after a brief illness. With his family by his side and his strong belief in God, Dad peacefully left us to join Mom, at the age of 90 years. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his children Gord (Donna), Lynne (Reid) and Michele (Marcel); grandchildren Jennifer (Shane), Samantha, Katelyn, Michael, Daniel and Sean; brother Walter of Winnipeg and sister Jean DeCourcy of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, as well as his many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Jan and Katherine Seepish; siblings Bertha McDougall, Kay Petrachuk, Tom, Mary Podolski, Anne Ewaschuk/Pic, Pauline Karmason/Benedictson and Frank; and by his beloved wife of 59 years, Milly Boss. Dad was born at the family home in Prawda, Manitoba. He was the seventh of 10 children. He was always a hard worker, leaving school after sixth grade to help his family by going to work in the bush, cutting wood. Later he moved to Red Lake, Ontario and a job in the gold mines. After the mines, he got a job at Coiner's Slipper in Winnipeg, met Mom, married and moved back to Prawda. They farmed and Dad also worked at Pineland Nursery during the summers. In 1965, Dad started working at the CN Transcona Shops, then brought his family to Winnipeg in 1968. Dad stayed with CN until his retirement in 1987. After retiring Dad played baseball and curled in seniors leagues. He was very involved with the Church, the Knights of Columbus and was a long-standing member of the Church Choir. Along with these activities, he was a great babysitter for his grandkids. A service to celebrate Dad's life will be held at St. Gerard's Parish, 45 Foster Street, on December 29, 2012, viewing to start at 10:00 a.m. with service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery, Highway #1 East at Navin Road. His grandchildren are proud to be his pallbearers. Our sincerest thanks to the Staff on 5A at St. Boniface Hospital for their comfort and care. Donations in Dad's memory may be made to St. Gerard's Parish, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
