Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN KUZENKO (nee LAYE) April 28, 1917 - December 26, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Jean Kuzenko (nee Laye), on December 26, 2012 at Riverview Health Centre. She was 95 years old. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, William (June 2003), as well as her two sisters Mary and Lena, and her five brothers, Steve, George, Mike, Jim and Jack. Jean, the seventh child of Teeny and Alexander Laye was born in Souris, Manitoba and grew up in Selkirk, Manitoba, where she lived and worked until she married her husband Bill in 1947. They eventually settled in Niverville, Manitoba in 1952 where they raised their family, worked and participated in the community until 1990 when they moved to Winnipeg. Mom was known far and wide for her extraordinary cooking and baking skills and her warm and generous heart. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Debbie (Colley), James and David, and granddaughters Shawna, Anastasia and Ivy, as well as the many people who knew her and loved her throughout her life. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held in the Spring of 2013 for family and friends. If friends so desire memorial contributions can be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society. Thank you to all the staff on CD1 for their loving care over the past six years. Mom....we miss you so much but you will be forever in our hearts.

I remember Jean very well from my childhood years. She and my mom, Ella, were good friends and I know my mom would want to have their relationship acknowledged at this time. Jean was a fine and intelligent person and I send my sincere sympathy to all the family.....sp - Posted by: Sylvia (Kemila) Philipps (friend) on: Dec 30, 2012

I was so sorry to read about Auntie Jean's passing. It brings to mind all her lovely siblings. I remember fondly her deep laugh and easy smile. Please let us know when we can honor her memory in the Spring. - Posted by: Jaime Laye Bouw (niece) on: Dec 29, 2012
