JOHN (JACK) ALBERT SIMPSON
Born: Jun 02, 1924
Date of Passing: Dec 31, 2012
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) ALBERT SIMPSON June 2, 1924 - December 31, 2012 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dearly loved dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. Dad married the love of his life Shirley in 1947 until her passing in 2005. He was also predeceased by his parents, brothers Bill, Robert and sister Marjorie. To carry on his memory, Jack leaves his daughter Janet (Neville), grandchildren Angie (Brandon), Ryan (Laura), great-grandchildren Jack, Leo and Raya, nieces, nephews and family friends. Dad was an easy-going, caring and generous man who would do anything for his family. We called him "Mr. Fix-it" because he loved the challenge of fixing anything that we would break. He was an aircraft mechanic by trade, working for Air Canada for the majority of his career. He had a wonderful sense of humour and had a knack for making people laugh. He loved watching half hour comedy shows on TV, even if they were repeats. His laugh was contagious and his funny sayings or stories will never be forgotten. Dad loved spending time with his family and their friends. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Concordia Hospital and home palliative care. Cremation will take place and a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of their choice. "Dad - we love you and will miss you so much. Bye for now."

I was sorry to hear of My Uncle Jack passing. My Uncle Jack and Aunt Shirley were kind and generous to me and we always had some great laughs together, whenever I visited them in Winnipeg. My Uncle Jack reminded me of my Dad, so much so, they could have passed as twins. They had very similar mannerisms, but was a smaller version of my Dad. I will miss him very much. - Posted by: Wayne Simpson (He was my Uncle) on: Jan 31, 2013

Dear Janet and family – we’re so sorry to hear of your dad’s (and my uncle’s) passing. When speaking to him over the phone these past few years, it was like reconnecting with my own father, Bill. The two sounded so much alike…funny, interesting and great conversationalists. Those chats with your dad were also wonderful and poignant reminders of how lucky we were to have shared our lives with such kind and gentle men. Our hearts go out to you all. Love your cousin, Lorraine and family - Posted by: Lorraine (Simpson) Willson (Niece) on: Jan 31, 2013
