THOMAS JAMES MEINDL 1930 - 2013 Thomas James Meindl passed on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Red River Place Care Home in Selkirk. He suffered from diabetes, blindness, and Parkinson disease for 10 years. Thomas was survived by many niece's and nephew's Terry, Michael, Frederick, Bert, Paul, Kathy and Peter also many great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his mother and father Gertrude and Henry his brothers and sister Bert, Gerald and Bernice. Thomas worked in a variety of jobs out of school in the early fifty's he became an insurance adjuster worked in Calgary, Brandon and Winnipeg and eventually owned his own shop. He semi retired in the early seventies after Autopac came. He moved to Lake Frances to farm in 1980 + or he also operated the sport centre at Twin Lakes Beach for many years. Retired at age 65. Thomas was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be held at Woodlands Church of Annunciation on Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Canadian Diabetes Association. The family would thank his special friend Jean Marshall for all the help and support she gave to him over the years. Also we thank the following institutions for caring for Thomas over the time of his illness St. Laurent Assisted Living Centre, Stonewall Hospital and Red River Place Care Home.
